Florida Statute 626.8738 Penalty For Violation-Commits a Felony of Third Degree

3rd Degree Felony

Many Contractors in the State of Florida are violating the law on a regular basis. They have no legal right to effectively negotiate the settlement of an insurance claim in the State of Florida.

This industry is difficult enough to navigate through on your own or without a Public Adjuster to advocate for you. Contractors in most cases do not have your best interest at heart.

Florida Statute 626.8738Penalty for violation. In addition to any other remedy imposed pursuant to this code, any person who acts as a resident or nonresident public adjuster or holds himself or herself out to be a public adjuster to adjust claims in this state, without being licensed by the department as a public adjuster and appointed as a public adjuster, commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
